10 Signs of Hypothyroidism

Happy New Year and Happy Thyroid Awareness month! May this New Year bring you much health and happiness!

As we progress into the new year, I wanted to start out with an article that discusses typical symptoms of hypothyroidism. Since I have personal experience finding and healing my own symptoms of hypothyroidism, I want to educate and empower others not only to figure out why they have symptoms, but how to heal their underlying causes.

The other reason that I want to discuss the 10 typical hypothyroid symptoms, is that there are so many people that have no idea that they have hypothyroidism. In fact, it is estimated that as many as 27 million Americans have a thyroid problem such as Hashimoto’s or Graves’, and half of them have no idea they do! Hypothyroidism, or an underactive thyroid, accounts for 90 percent of all thyroid imbalances.

Could you be one of those people? Take a look and see if any of these symptoms ring true for you:

  1. Fatigue after sleeping 8-10 hours a night or needing to take a nap daily.
  2. Weight gain or the inability to lose weight.
  3. Mood issues such as mood swings, anxiety, or depression.
  4. Hormone imbalances such as PMS, irregular periods, infertility, and low sex drive.
  5. Muscle pain, joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, or tendonitis.
  6. Cold hands and feet, feeling cold when others are not, or having a body temperature consistently below 98.5.
  7. Dry or cracking skin, brittle nails, and excessive hair loss.
  8. Constipation
  9. Mind issues such as brain fog, poor concentration, or poor memory.
  10. Neck swelling, snoring, or hoarse voice.

If you have several of the above symptoms, it is important to work with someone who can assist you in finding and correcting the root cause of your bodily malfunction. If the underlying causes are not found, symptoms may never resolve. But, by using functional diagnostic lab work, using a process of investigating, analyzing, and continuous course correction, we can assist our clients in reaching optimal bodily function.

Keep in mind how well your thyroid is functioning is inter-related with every cell and system in your body. If your thyroid is not running optimally, then neither are you.

    I can relate to this article because I dreamed about overcoming my hypothyroidism for years.
    I tried just about everything I could think of but nothing seemed to work.

    Then I did something different and I took back control of my life in a few short weeks. Now I’m happy and don’t think about hypothyroidism anymore.
